The Journal of Aquariculture & Aquatic Sciences (JAAS) has been published since 1980. The original title, The Journal of Aquariculture, was changed with the start of volume 3 in 1982 to reflect an expanded subject coverage. View Table of Contents
JAAS publishes original scientific papers, short communications, correspondance, book reviews and other items relevant to aquariculture and related aquatic sciences. JAAS serves as a single medium for publication of results of research from the varied disciplines that are of interest to aquarists, aquaculturists, aquatic researchers and aquarium curators.
Research papers are accepted on the basis of their originality and discussion. Papers are critically reviewed by two members of the Review Board or by others who are experts in the relevant discipline and evaluated for publication by the editor.
Unsolicited manuscripts may be submitted in any of four catagories:
(1) Scientific Papers;
(2) Short Communications;
(3) Correspondance; or
(4) Aids.
All papers will be accepted on the understanding that they have not been, and will not be, published elsewhere.
From time to time JAAS publishes single issues devoted exclusively to a particular topic or of papers and abstracts from organizations, congresses, conferences or special meetings.

Submission of manuscripts on computer diskettes (3.5" or 5.25") in MS-DOS ASCII or WordStar format is encouraged. Submission of manuscripts via CompuServe's electronic mail is accepted.
An "Editorial Policy and Author's Guide" is available upon request from the editor or a copy can be read and/or downloaded from this web site. Books for review and inquiries concerning advertisement policy and rates must be sent to the editor.
Abstracts from JAAS are published in Abstracts Journal (Russia), Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries Abstracts, ASFA Aquaculture Abstracts, Bioabstracts, Current Awareness in Biological Sciences, Fisheries Review and Zoological Record. Text only of selected past issues are on-line in the library of the Pets Forum B on CompuServe ("GO PFVENB").
SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION
Subscriptions to JAAS may be for single volumes (four issues or numbers per volume) or for any consecutive four issues or numbers.
A volume consists of four issues or numbers published on an irregular basis. From time to time two or more numbers may be combined into a single issue.
